The bread is completely gluten-free and you need very few – and very basic – ingredients to make it. It’s really soft yet crunchy from all the seeds and perfect for slicing thinly and sandwiching avocado, hummus, chicken, bacon, ham, veggies, egg, etc. You can also dip a couple of slices in egg and pan-fry them to make Protein French Toast! With a bit of butter on top too, mmm…
I’m a big fan of making my own protein bread because I’m a big sandwich fan but I don’t really like store-bought bread too much. It’s usually full of stuff meant to keep the bread ‘alive’ on store shelves for days and days if not weeks and weeks. Store-bought bread is also generally very poor, nutritionally-speaking. Obviously you can buy freshly-baked multi-seeded bread but I doubt you’ll be able to find one with a better nutritional profile than this one.
I mean, check it out, a slice of this bread has: 106kcals, 8g protein, 6g carbs (out of which 1g is fiber), and 5g fat! And did I mention it’s really tasty too?
