Almond & Dark Chocolate Protein Bars – a Recipe Video

Last Saturday, at Body Pow, I gave a talk on Protein Bars. It was called Mastering the Art of Homemade Protein Bars and was as all about inspiring people to think outside the shake and become their own protein bar making wizards ;-) I designed the talk to follow my Protein Bar Ebook: it started by me going over the basics and then went into experimenting with ingredient variations. I talked a bit about strategies to deal with protein-cooking adversity and highlighted the importance of FEARLESSNESS and HEART when experimenting in the kitchen (here’s a picture of me going on about this on stage!) To finish the presentation with a BOOM, I then ended it all by showing a recipe video that I thought you guys might like to watch too! Here it is:


¼ cup vanilla whey (I used this one by Kinetica, it’s one of my fav!)
3 tablespoons coconut flour
½ cup almond milk
2 tablespoons almond flour
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
½ bar chocolate


1. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl (except for the dark chocolate) until you get a moldable batter you can mold into bars. I shaped them first into balls and then flattened them to form little bars but you can keep them as balls or make larger bars. Up to you. 

2. What you do next is just dip them into the melted dark chocolate! I use my hands because the chocolate is never burning hot BUT if it for some reason is or if you just don’t want to get your hand/s dirty, use a spoon. I show you both ways in the video
