A Grass-Fed Steak Sandwich on Protein Pancake ‘Bread’

Next time you find yourself craving a sandwich but have no bread around: make some savoury (protein) pancakes and use them into protein bread buns. You can flavour your buns however you want. Here, for example, we used thyme. But you can use dried parsley, dried oregano, rosemary, basil, etc. too. You can also fill your protein bread buns with any kind of filling like veggies, hummus, chicken, bacon, salmon or, some delicious fillet steak.

Ingredients

1/2-3/4 cup rolled oats
1/4 cup whey protein powder (unflavoured)
2 tbsp pea protein powder (unflavoured)
1/4 cup liquid egg whites
1/8 cup almond milk
1-2 tbsp cottage cheese
Dried thyme (to taste)
Salt  (to taste)

Directions

1. Blend everything together.

2. Fry up as 4-6 patties (depending on how small you want them) on a nonstick pan with a tsp of coconut oil added to it to ensure they definitely don’t stick.

3. For the filling, we pan-fried some grass-fed fillet steak.
