Dark Chocolate Protein Bars

Dark Chocolate Protein Bars

These protein bars will introduce you into a world of possibility – a world of magic and protein goodness! The recipe is really easy, quick, and open to modifications too. For example, you can use gluten-free oats instead of regular oats and try different protein powder flavours.

Ingredients

1/2 cup ground oats (gluten-free or regular)
1/4 cup chocolate whey protein powder
1/2 cup milk (cow milk, dairy, or coconut)
1/8 cup coconut flour
1/8 cup cocoa
1/2 dark chocolate bar (50g)
3-4 tbsp of peanut butter (optional but delicious)

Directions

1. Mix all ingredients together (except for the dark chocolate) using a handheld blender, a mixer or just a spoon.
2. Mix everything until a soft dough or compact batter is former.
3. Shape the batter into small rectangles (or roll them into balls to make protein truffles) with your hands. If your batter is too wet or sticky, add a tiny bit more coconut flour to it. If it’s too dry, add a bit more milk until the desired consistency is reached.
4. Once all your mix is shaped, melt your dark chocolate in a bain marie, i.e. a glass bowl on top of a pot of boiling water.
5. Dunk your protein bars or truffles into the melted chocolate and, once fully coated, transfer them to the fridge or freezer until they set.
