High Protein Breakfast Cereal Recipe with Pea Protein

Get ready for the biggest health kick of your life! This recipe cereal is made up of hemp hearts, chia seeds, buckwheat and dried fruit.

After all it’s hard to argue against hemp hearts, chia seeds, and buckwheat – all being wonderseeds rich in protein, fibre and omega 3s. This is a cereal that you could easily munch on the daily!

Ingredients:

1/2 cup hulled hemp seeds
1/4 cup goji berries
1/4 cup chia seeds
1/4 cup buckwheat flakes
1/4 cup  vanilla Pea Protein 80
1 tablespoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons unsweetened coconut flakes

Directions:

1. Get out a tupperware and throw all the above ingredients into it, giving it a nice shake.

2. That’s pretty much it. When you’re ready to have your cereal you then just scoop out some into a bowl, add milk (or any milk you prefer), and let it sit for about 15 minutes so that the chia seeds absorb the milk and gain that nice glutinous and almost-porridgy volume.

Macros per bowl (of 40 grams so 17% of the entire mix above which is 228 grams):

200 kcals
12.9 g protein
15.8 g carbs (out of which 6 g is fibre!)
10.7 g fat (2.6 g saturated)

Note: There are lots of variations you can use when you’re making your own version of this cereal! You can, for example, add chopped nuts. You can also add (chopped) dried fruits like apples, apricots, or dates. Just bear in mind the carbs will increase if you do.

  2. Hey!

Thanks for all the awesome recipies! I always feel so inspired to get my protiens out of the draws and throw together a few yummy treats when i read your blogg. I can however not find any recpies for mussli/ protien rich granola and am wondering if you have any tips on how i can make a low fat/calorie granola with high protien and healthy fats and fiber. I have tryed experimenting myself- but nothing seams to turn out as good tasting as the unhealthy one you can buy in the shops :/
