You might think you don’t have time to make your own protein bars at home, but this recipe quite literally takes under five minutes and the bars are so, so delicious!
If you like dark chocolate especially, we suggest you give these ones a go! You can shape them into truffles too and they’re fantastic because you can wrap them in foil, stick them in your bag, and take with you on the road!
Here’s the recipe:
Ingredients:
1/4 cup goji berries
1.5 tablespoon peanut butter
1/8 cup 100% cocoa powder
1/4 cup chocolate whey protein powder
2 tablespoons coconut flour
1/4 cup cartoned coconut milk
1/2 tablespoon maple syrup Zero Syrups
Directions:
1. Using a food processor or handheld blender, blend all the ingredients together until you get a sort of ‘paste’.
2. Shape this ‘paste’ into either bars or truffles, using some extra cocoa powder if your mix is too sticky (not much though, just a teaspoon on your hands would do the job!) You can roll them in cocoa powder too at the end if you want. You can also coat them in melted dark chocolate – for that extra chocolatey punch of protein!
3. Stick them in the fridge until you’re ready to eat them or wrap them in aluminium foil and take them with you to enjoy while you go about your day!
Macros per bar (out of 4 small ones):
139kcals
11g protein
10g carbs (out of which 5g is fibre!)
6g fat
You don’t need to cook the bars or do anything to the mix instead. All you do is mix your ingredients together, shape the ‘dough’ into bars, and you’re done.
