A PEANUT BUTTER (PROTEIN) LOVER’S HEAVEN: Peanut Butter & Marshmallow Protein Muffins with Protein Peanut Butter Cups Baked Inside

This might be one of the best things I’ve ever made with protein powder.

I took my first bite and I swear I died a little. The world around me faded. The birds stopped singing. My kitchen disappeared. All I saw was this muffin and all I tasted was peanut butter… chocolate… and vanilla. My heart almost exploded.

What sort of wizardry IS this!? I don’t know what to say. I just don’t know… what to say. Let me give the mic to someone else, OK? Because this introduction is going nowhere :-/

“How would I describe it? It’s… ridiculous. The whole concept! It’s… audacious. The result is spectacular… SUPREME! It’s a peanut butter lover’s DELIGHT. I mean, putting a Protein Reece’s Peanut Butter Cup inside a Protein Peanut Butter Muffin! Best idea EVERRRR!!!!”

Hmmm… that’s not helping much either! We’re just inundating you with an an ocean of hyperbole! So let me give you the recipe and let the muffins do all the talking ;-)

The result is ridiculous. Hard to describe really! Just… spectacular, out of this world. If you like peanut butter and chocolate, well… you’re in for an out-of-body-experience! Fwaaaa…..

Macros per muffin (out 3):

11.7g carbs (out of which 6.4 is just fiber!)
36.8g protein
11.7g fat (5.6g saturated)

Note 1: If you don’t have or want to get Quest’s Peanut Butter Cups, I suggest you make your own! They’re INCREDIBLY easy to make. This is what you do: 1. melt some dark chocolate, 2. pour the chocolate in a muffin cup and stick it in the freezer for 30 minutes so it sets, 3. top the chocolate with peanut butter or, to make it high in protein, a combo of PB and your whey protein powder of choice, 4. top the PB et al with the rest of the melted chocolate, 5. transfer to the freezer for 30 minutes and… presto! Homemade PB cups! Here’s a recipe I created a while back for Protein Filled Chocolate Cups; here’s another one. Just follow what I did there but use PB in the center :-)

Note 2: If you don’t have Cellucor’s Peanut Butter & Marshmallow Whey Protein Powder, you can use a vanilla, toffee, peanut butter or cinnamon flavored whey. Cellucor’s PB & M whey is MADNESS though. You can get it here if you’re in the UK and here if you’re in the US. I tried it for the first time this morning and. HEY…. ZEUS. A Peanut Butter DREAM COME TRUE.
