Quite a few people have asked me” “what can I do with strawberry whey protein powder?” While popular, strawberry whey is, I think, not a good flavor. I’m a disciple of Vanilla and most certainly a big fan of Chocolate. I can however, happily climb up the Toffee/Banoffee branch and land at Banana; I can do the family of Cookie (which includes Cookie Dough and Cookies & Cream) and certainly that of Coffee (a klan that includes Espresso, Mocha, Latte, and Cappuccino flavors). I will also gladly go down the dessert route and try Cheesecake and Cinnamon-Roll Powders. See, all is good until you drop me in the land of fruit and present me with fruity whey. There, you have me stumped. I have to really sit down and think because, well, it requires a pinch of creativity to turn it from merely OK or ‘beh’ to WOWZER!!!!!!!! Parenthetically, I should mention that the only landscape that, to me, is one of horror is that of mint & chocolate – a flavor combination tantamount to one most likely served in hell. Going back to strawberry whey though, I got a few scoops from a friend so I could play around with it and try to create something good for everyone who asked me ‘what can I do with strawberry whey?’
1/4 cup strawberry whey protein powder
1/4 cup ground almonds
1/8 cup coconut flour
1/4 cup ground oats (or quinoa flakes)
1/2 cup coconut milk (or almond milk, or any)
5 squares 90% chocolate (50g)
2. Melt 2.5 squares of chocolate au bain marie (i.e. on a glass bowl on top of a boiling pot of water) and divide the mixture into 10 or 11 chocolate molds (I use this amazing chocolate mould – one of the coolest (and more of less cheap considering its greatness) purchases ever!) and move it around the mold’s edges so it’s not all stuck at the bottom.
4. Once you do this, melt the other 2.5 squares and cover up the chocolates. Stick them into the freezer another 10 minutes and voila! Ready to munch!

It’s an absurdly easy recipe that can be filled with whatever protein pow you have. I should mention that the strawberry was really nice!!!! Would I have liked the chocolates better with a vanilla filling? Maybe, but to tell you the truth, I felt strawberry added a really nice touch to the chocolates! Ideally, I would like to fill a box up with half chocolate and half vanilla. No, 1/3 vanilla, 1/3 chocolate and 1/3 strawberry whey. Now, tell me that’s not one HELL of a cool little present to give someone?
