Psyllium Husk & Egg White Protein Crepes with Bolognese Filling

Psyllium Husk & Egg White Protein Crepes with Bolognese Filling

We should probably start in describing what psyllium husk powder is, and how this powder is going to make you a delicious crêpe. So long story short, psyllium husk powder is a form of soluble fibre. Essentially the fibre dissolves in water and forms a gel-like mass that has health benefits such as easing bowel movements, softening stools and improves regularity without increasing flatulence (gas).

Now that the science is out of the way, psyllium husk powder crêpes can be eaten with basically everything: sweet stuff, savoury food, sweet and savoury fillings, totally unsweetened and unsavoury anything goes. This recipe will focus on beef, but feel free to experiment to satisfy all cravings!

Ingredients for crepe: So simple!

5 g psyllium husk powder
55 g liquid egg whites

Directions:

Whisk 5g of psyllium husk powder and 55 g liquid egg whites and fry it in a pancake pan

Macros per Serving (out of 1):

To that, add  beef ‘bolognese’ which can be made by frying a LOT of chopped red onions, garlic, cumin, coriander, and cinnamon, adding extra lean mince beef, bit of sugar for the canned tomatoes that go after, salt and pepper (bring to boil, simmer), parsley, basil. When ready,  stir in some extra virgin olive oil.

    • Psyllium is a soluble fiber that increases the bulk of other substances, making your meals more satisfying and helping you consume fewer calories. The only healthy way to lose weight is to maintain a balanced diet and burn more calories than you consume. I am so grateful to read this such a wonderful post.
