ANyone or has Anna, got a recipe that uses chickpeas, whey and whatever else to create pseudo cookie dough/batter?
Try the recipe below…I forget where I found the original recipe, but I modified it to include whey protein and it has come out pretty good every time I make it.
Chickpeas – 500 g (drained)
Vanilla Whey Protein – 1 scoop (30 g)
Unsweetened Applesauce – 0.25 cup (1 oz or about 28 g)
Pure Vanilla Extract – 1 tsp (~4 g)
Salt – 0.25 tsp
Sweetener of choice – I used 6 tsp of Sweetleaf – Sugar Leaf, but I could probably use 4 tsp…
Coconut Oil – 1 tbsp (14 g) <- if you can probably omit this and increase applesauce or add some milk if you don’t plan to bake it…
Put all ingredients into a food processor and blend. The consistency and taste should be very similar to cookie dough.
With the ingredients I use, the entire recipe listed above comes out to:
Cals – 750
Fat – 22 g
Protein – 41 g
Carbs – 105 g
Fiber – 22 g
Sugar – 31 g
This is a decent size and I usually break it down to about 8 servings, which comes out to around:
Cals – 94
Fat – 3 g
Protein – 5 g
Carbs – 13 g
Fiber – 3 g
Sugar – 4 g
– You can add chocolate chips, etc afterwards
– Obviously your macros will change depending on your ingredients and if you add chocolate chips
– If you want to bake it, just add 0.25 tsp of baking soda and 1 tsp of baking powder! Set oven to 350 F (about 176 C) and bake for about 30 – 40 minutes!!!
Awesome!!!!! Just saw this. Sounds DELICIOUS! I should try it too :-) I usually just make ‘cookie dough’ by mixing ground almonds, nut butter, and whey +/- some milk but I bet the addition of chickpeas – of even butter beans? – will make it a lot more cookiedough-ish. And mmmm, coconut oil!
